Job Summary:

Our Licensed professionals are self starters who seek to demonstrate patient care second to none! Insight residential Therapy is in search of a full-time (daytime, Monday – Friday schedule) Licensed Physical Therapist to add to our dynamic team in our Flint campus. Insight Residential Therapy provides rehabilitation to patients residing at the Insight Healing Center, which includes subacute, short-term rehabilitation as well as long term care of patients who may have neurological and/or orthopedic injuries. While our Physical Therapists experience a mix of diagnosis and referrals, it’s important for our Physical Therapists to be able to operate independently and diligently with minimal supervision. Our Physical Therapists will serve as a member of an Interdisciplinary team (including nursing, physicians, physical therapists, and speech language pathologists, etc.) regarding a patient’s treatment, therefore compassion and teamwork serve as foundational attributes in regard to this professional role.

Duties:

Performs initial and on-going assessments of patients in both short- and long-term residential programs.

Develops and implements individualized therapy interventions designed to promote healing, restore function, maintain function, compensate/adapt to impairments for optimal function, or prevent complications arising from an injury/impairment.

Identify need for and make referrals to other disciplines or for durable medical equipment to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.

Instruct, educate, and train patients and/or their caregivers in positioning, handling, exercises, and activities in order to promote optimal recovery and functioning.

Performs administrative tasks such as keeping patient records, documentation via an electronic medical record in a timely manner, writing reports and making telephone calls/consultations as needed.

Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants per state guidelines.

Communicates continually with PTAs and other rehabilitation team members to help create the most effective, individualized treatment outcomes for patients.

Provide hands on, one on one treatment to patients, including lifting (50-100 lbs), transferring, applying modalities and interventions to patients in a safe manner with stamina and endurance.

Qualifications:

Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.

Must be licensed in the State of Michigan and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state practice guidelines.

Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy required; Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum

Current Basic Life Support certificate, or ability to obtain within 45 days of the date of hire.

Previous experience preferred within a residential environment

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.

Ability to multitask and move between responsibilities in a fluid manner.

Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy.

Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement.

Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1.5 Months (45 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy (RPT) credentialed from the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy.
