Under the direction of a Foreman, we're looking for a Concrete Finisher responsible for safely assisting in the placement of concrete and final finishing of concrete surface and perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or other management.
Location: Projects will vary in location (Main yard is in Petoskey, MI), so reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to any job site is required as needed. Our projects are generally located throughout mid-Northern Michigan.
Candidate: Valid drivers license is required and a satisfactory driving record. A Class A CDLis desired, however, not required. Prior construction experience is preferred. Must be punctual and dependable. Must be able to work Monday through Friday with weekends as needed during busy season. You must be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions and work in dirty and dusty environments and crawl into close quarters to strip concrete forms. Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level. Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks and parking lots. Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surface. Must be able to screed concrete and finish floor with a power trawl. Level surfaces by using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over. Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold until set. Smooth high spots and fill depressions. Make concrete beams, columns and panels. Finish corners by hand. Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets. Knowledge of and ability to safely use crane hand signals. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Able to lift and/or carry 50lbs. through rough terrain if necessary. Able to shoot grades.
