This position serves as the subject matter expert regarding the execution of tasks, practices, and incident reporting to management that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State of Michigan Child Support data and systems. This position has full decision-making autonomy in investigating security incidents (e.g., data loss, data breach, and unauthorized use of data) within the OCS in collaboration with partners and contractors statewide for OCS's systems. This position is responsible for ensuring the OCS's compliance with incident response protocols as outlined in various confidentiality laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. This includes compliance with Title IV-D of the Social Security Act, Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) Agreement, Michigan Department of Treasury policy, and IRS Publication 1075. This expert position executes the regulatory, investigative, and administrative functions that determine OCS's responsibilities regarding instances of data loss, data breach, or unauthorized use of data. This position serves as a security administrator expert within OCS for numerous information systems, including MiCSES, and works with various stakeholders and contractors statewide. In this capacity, the Security Specialist ensures child support data is appropriately safeguarded as dictated by applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Additionally, this position oversees and serves as a lead on the coordination and implementation of established security policies as well as various internal and external security related reviews, IRS audits, county IT audits, annual security audits, and assessments.
