Currently we are looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our firm in our Grand Rapids office to support our clients, co-workers, and core principles – “understand our customers and satisfy their needs, do what we say we are going to do and have fun.” At F&V, our goal is to recruit and retain great people and in turn provide a great employee experience. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop and direct complex projects while mentoring junior team members and participating in business development efforts. Responsibilities: Work closely with engineers and clients on multi-discipline projects to define the conceptual direction for site plans and landscape designs. Lead design-based planning projects including revitalization plans, feasibility studies, and park master plans. Be a creative designer by providing technical solutions to enhance communities. Assist in business development, proposals, and prepare federal, state, and county grant applications for recreation projects. Participate in meetings and presentations to convey design ideas and solutions to internal team members and external clients. Determine and monitor project scope, budget, and schedule. Develop and maintain client relationships. Drive innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends and technology. Author and review master plans, reports, and critical documents. Ensure projects meet compliance standards and codes. Provide mentorship and direction to project teams and staff. Develop advanced technical specifications and bid documents. Drive due diligence efforts and project feasibility assessments. Understand and follow F&V’s standards and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecturerequired. 10+ years of related experience. LEED certification is a plus. Familiarity with MiGrants and Department of Natural Resourcs (MDNR). Expertise in landscape design methodologies, trends, and best practices. Proficient with design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc. Deep knowledge of industry trends and future directions. Must have experience with project management, design, and plan production. In depth knowledge of regulations, codes, and legal requirements. Proven experience preparing and meeting budgets and schedules. Proven experience in relationship development and proposal preparation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. EOE
