Senior Health Insurance Sales Account Executive (Hybrid/Remote - Western MI) - Health Alliance Plan

This position can be remote/hybrid, but presence/focus in the Western Michigan geography will be required.General Summary: To attain the sales and memberships goals of Health Alliance Plan including Alliance Health and Life Insurance Company (Alliance) and ASR by promoting our products through HAP’s contracted Producer Sales Force. To positively represent the corporation with respect to promotion, sales and service of all commercial group product lines to a variety of customers throughout Michigan. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Achieve individual membership goals for all products and services.

Contact on a regular scheduled basis Producers and Consultants to obtain RFQ and RFP's.

Educate the Producers and Consultants on all products, commission structure, incentives, underwriting and enrollment requirements.

Assist Producers in closing sales and negotiating with underwriting, operations and the prospective client.

Assist in the contracting and appointment of new Producers and Agencies.

Maintain a record of sales and proposal activity within the sales CRM database.

Present products and their utility on a retail presentation basis to employees at enrollment meetings.

Complete the sales process by obtaining the signed Group Application, Premium Check, Employee Applications and internal documents.

Organize sales by identifying target Agencies and direct prospects and developing an action plan for prospecting and closing sales.

Maintain both agency and direct sales prospect lists.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, or related field or an additional six (6) years of related and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.

At least seven (7) years of sales experience in the Commercial/Non HMO Health Insurance Industry working with Producers and consultants in the health care field.

Experience in building and maintaining business relationships with agents/brokers, TPA's, small and large businesses and other external constituencies.

Superior sales skills required.

Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.

Basic organizational and planning skills.

Self-motivated and goal oriented.

Understanding of managed care, insurance products, alternative delivery systems to include indemnity, PPO, POS and HMO and self-funded programs.

Background in alternative financing, underwriting, experience rating, self-funding and pooled products.

Demonstrated track record selling diverse product lines.

Understanding of provider reimbursement, contracting, quality assurance and utilization review.

Experience in the laws and mandates affecting the delivery of health care products. General knowledge of the Michigan Marketplace.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the criteria specified through the Henry Ford Health Systems' Corporate Insurance Program.

Must possess and maintain a Michigan Accident and Health, and Life Resident Producer’s license or obtain within 45 days of hire.
