Job DescriptionThis position will coordinate the scientific research initiatives relating to the efficacy of the Michigan State Police (MSP) led training and policy initiatives. This position serves as the primary liaison with Michigan State Police (MSP) Executive Office, Executive Office of the Governor, university research partners, and other external trainers. This position will determine compliance within MSP following state and federal regulations related to required and recommended police training. It will be responsible for the development and implementation of best practice policies and programs concerning training practices utilizing research to inform decisions. This position will draft proposed legislation and keep abreast of emergent issues related to training and policy research. This employee will be tasked with preparing reports for the MSP Director and Deputy Directors, as well as outside executives such as the Executive Office of the Governor, evaluating the impact, efficiency, and effectiveness of police training programs.
