Keith Center for Civil Rights in Wayne State University’s Law School. The Program Engagement Coordinator is responsible for serving as the liaison between the Detroit Equity Action Lab’s (DEAL) fellows and their organizations, DEAL network, Detroiters, and other key stakeholders. This position will facilitate information sharing and gathering. They will co-design and plan fellowship events and be an active participant on DEAL’s Design Team. The Coordinator reports to the Manager, Fellowship Program.Develop, plan, and support DEAL fellowship and network social and special events. Coordinate event logistics for in person and virtual monthly and optional fellowship sessions including venue, catering, tech, transporting supplies, on-site set-up, and tear down, and interface with guest presenters, facilitators, and subject matter experts.Serve as a liaison between the Fellowship Program Manager and Director and the fellows and as the contact person for on and off-campus vendors. Manage and ensure accurate and timely communications with fellows through email, calendar invites, phone/texts, and Evite for monthly sessions and special events.Initiate and maintain relationships with the DEAL fellows, DEAL network, Detroiters, Law School community, and other key stakeholders.Attend and participate in monthly Design Team planning meetings and co-facilitate certain aspects of fellowship sessions.Create and manage DEAL’s social calendar.Create and maintain fellowship documents, order supplies, and manage storage room inventory.Attend racial equity workshops and skill-building events and opportunities when appropriate.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education Associate's degreeAssociate’s Degree in from an accredited university in Business Management, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.Experience Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.Two years’ experience working in higher education preferred.Event planning experience is preferred.Prior experience working with various social media platforms, Evite and Canva preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesEffective communicator who asks questions, seeks guidance and support, and notifies the team about delays and roadblocks.Ability to build cooperative, effective relationships, facilitate communication and understanding among varied groups and organizations.Must be detail oriented.Works well independently and with a team.
