Description We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in handling wage reports, liaising with vendors, and assisting with special projects. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage and file wage reports in a timely and accurate manner Maintain regular correspondence with vendors to ensure smooth operations Assist in special projects as required to support the payroll function Utilize skills in Local Payroll Tax, Payroll Tax Reporting, and Payroll Tax Returns to perform tasks efficiently Monitor and update payroll information and records for accuracy Handle payroll tax related inquiries and issues, providing solutions where necessary Work collaboratively with the team to improve and streamline payroll processes Ensure all payroll activities adhere to legal and company standards Manage customer inquiries and provide appropriate solutions Take proactive steps to resolve payroll and tax related issues. Requirements Must have a solid understanding of Local Payroll Tax regulations and procedures. Experience in Payroll Tax Reporting is required. Familiarity with the process of preparing and submitting Payroll Tax Returns. Should possess excellent numerical and organizational skills. Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Proficiency in using payroll software and other related IT tools. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills to liaise with various departments and personnel. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred. Previous experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must have excellent problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies. Familiarity with payroll tax regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. The ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Commitment to continuous detail oriented development and staying updated with changes in payroll tax laws.
