What are we looking for specifically?

Carpenters/skilled tradespeople who know how to use tools and show up to work ready to work.

5 years of relevant Commercial construction experience experience in the field OR 8 years of residential construction experience OR some combination of the two.

The most typical carpentry applications that our carpenters perform are the following:

- Install Hollow metal door frames, install hollow metal or wood doors and install door Hardware.

- Install cabinets and other millwork.

- frame sheetrock and finish walls

- Foreman and Superintendents also help coordinate the job in the field and lead other members of our team As one of these positions, you will interface directly with the client and our Project Managers in the office. Our PM's are your best resource, but know when to get the hell out of the way and let you do what you do best. We build our teams around trust in one another and holding each other accountable mutually.

Who are we?

We are a relatively small, and family owned company that has been employing, training and building life-long partnerships with our employees for over 45 years. Our company has about 30 people in it, and about a forth of our employees have have been with our company for over 30 years. Our longest tenured employee just celebrated 40 years with us. The reason is simple, when you become a member of our team, you become part of our family and stay that way unless you decide to prove otherwise. Our employees are valued and supported.

What do we do?

We do commercial construction work of all kinds. Where we focus our attention tends to be in the hospital and healthcare sector. We have partnerships with all of the largest hospitals around the greater Springfield Area. When you become a member of our team, its almost like becoming an employee of all of the hospitals too. You get to know and build relationships with their staff. You'll become comfortable in the facilities. Also- hospitals give us work YEAR round, which means layoffs are infrequent and short-lived. We keep a small crew for the expressed purpose of not laying off our employees, so it really only happens once in a blue moon and would rarely last longer than a week.

What we can offer you:

- An opportunity to never have to search for another job again. Continue and end your career as one of our Team-members. So long as you show up to work, ready to work and your philosophy is compatible with ours, you will have a life-long career with us. Our ideal employee would enjoy a team environment where his/her coworkers become like friends and family.

-We break up our talented workforce of carpenters into tiered categories, depending on experience level. When you sit down with us for a job interview, we will take a look at our tiers and come to an agreement on which one best describes your current skill level. You are handed a packet of information which tells you in very plain terms, the requirements of each level and what you'll need to accomplish at your given level in order to "Level-up" or receive a promotion. As a team, we track your progress and help you achieve your goals. We think that this creates a roadmap for our employees to follow, so that they're never in the dark in what is expected of them. It works to create an environment of CLARITY and SHARED accountability.

- Employee bonus program.

- Generous benefits.

- Competitive pay.

- Honest, fair and friendly relationship between employer and employee.

- Work in a sector which doesn't experience much, if any, market hostility so getting laid off is not a common occurrence.

Here is the kicker. There is TREMENDOUS opportunity for growth at our company right now. In the next 5 years, many of our senior Superintendents and Foreman will be hanging up their tool-belts. Young men and women looking to work hard to learn and grow with us will be rewarded a life-long career and job stability. Get one job, and never have to worry about being without work for the rest of your life.

What we need from you:

- Desire to control your own destiny and determine your ceiling for success

- Strong work ethic

- Dedication to craft

- Desire to be part of an established and championship team.

- Friendly/approachable personality.

You do not need to be CAPT. Smiley McHappy but if you do not enjoy doing this job as a career, maybe you should be working in a different industry. Yea Work is tough and sometimes it can be a real pain in the ass, but solving problems and building things should be what excites you and makes you want to get up in the morning. This is what we do, so try not to show up everyday looking like somebody spit in your cheerios. Sense of humor is a plus too.

- You need to have your own wheels to get to and from the job.

- We stock our jobs with power tools as necessary and provide you with a cordless drill so that you don't have to burn yours out while on the job.
