Experienced Carpentry Foreman

TR Wells Custom Framers, LLC, located in Berkshire County, MA, is looking for a carpentry foreman to coordinate and supervise their team of crew members. The foreman will be responsible for training new workers and will oversee residential and commercial new builds. They will also perform carpentry tasks on their own as a working foreman. Manage and train staff; ensure construction equipment is properly maintained; and keep projects on schedule. The candidate should be extremely organized with excellent time management, leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Objectives of this role

Create and maintain a construction schedule with project goals in mind

Train, supervise, and assign tasks to crew members

Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are followed on construction sites

Capable of managing 1-2 Projects at a time and a crew of up to 8

Ensure all construction projects stay on schedule, remain within the budget, and are completed successfully

Responsibilities

Read project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints

Oversee construction sites and supervise the use of machinery and equipment

Supervise a crew of 2-4 carpenters at any given project site

Assign carpentry tasks to crew

Emphasize safe use of all tools and equipment and enforce the proper use of safety gear, like helmets and safety glasses

Manage crew to ensure the project is kept on schedule

Skills and qualifications

Advanced knowledge of construction procedures and equipment

Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and construction plans

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Ability to problem-solve and fix routine errors

In-depth knowledge of safety guidelines and best practices

Preferred qualifications

Construction and carpentry experience – minimum of 10 years

Proven leadership skills

Ability to train, and supervise crew

Expertise supervising construction materials, such as tools and equipment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

OSHA30

Valid Driver’s license
