Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. In this role, you will mainly handle accounts payable, light accounts receivable, support month-end closing, and bank reconciliations. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle accounts payable duties, ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner. Manage light accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing, recording payments, and addressing any discrepancies. Support the month-end closing process, which may include preparing journal entries and updating the general ledger. Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate. Utilize NetSuite to process financial transactions and generate financial reports. Collaborate with other team members to improve financial processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines. Address any issues or inquiries related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate and organized financial records for future reference. Assist with other accounting tasks as needed. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately and efficiently Experience with Month End Close procedures and tasks Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar accounting software Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred Professional certification such as CPA is a plus Adherence to ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
