Staff Accountant

Description We are in the process of recruiting a Staff Accountant for our team in the Financial Services industry, based in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role provides an opportunity to join a dynamic workplace environment where you will be focused on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger tasks, among others. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Oversee the accounts payable function and provide supervisory skills where needed Pay strong attention to detail in all accounting tasks Conduct reconciliations for the General Ledger role Operate with ERP Great Plains on a regular basis Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month end close process Work with various accounting software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Execute bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy Maintain and update financial records as part of the role Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities Conduct regular audits and create reports based on the results. Requirements Must possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations is required Proficiency in managing General Ledger is necessary Ability to handle Journal Entries is a must Experience in Month End Close is required Proficiency in NetSuite will be highly advantageous Knowledge of Oracle is a necessary requirement Experience with QuickBooks is highly desired Familiarity with SAP is mandatory for this role A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is necessary Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are required Strong attention to detail and accuracy is mandatory Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required The ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
