DescriptionAmazon Robotics is building a new foundational system which will transform warehouse robotics. The team is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to define and scale the perception components underlying the system. The ideal candidate is passionate about classical and deep learning approaches to computer vision. They have solved CV problems for real world systems and seen their solutions deployed at scale. They are a hands-on expert, with a deep and broad understanding of sensors, CV algorithms and integrating CV into a larger systemKey job responsibilitiesApplied Scientists take on big unanswered questions and guide development team to state-of-the-art solutions. Experience programming in Java, C, Python or related language

PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience

2+ years of experience with classical Computer Vision techniques and related areas like calibration and sensor integration

Preferred Qualifications

Depth and breadth in state-of-the-art computer vision techniques

Experience evaluating, and developing innovative algorithms for CV systems for robotics.

Proven ability to develop practical solutions to complex problems.

PhD and 10+ years of academic or industry applied research experience in Robotics or Computer Vision

Excellent written (research papers) and oral communication skills.

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market.
