They have 1 FTE Network Specialist and 1 part time Desktop Support person
1 FTE handles networking, firewalls, troubleshooting and support
Part time support person handles user set up, 365 and SharePoint support, hardware requisition
Now there is a gap in coverage with the IT director out on leave
Cambridge office is 60-70 staff members: researchers, people with PhDs, Masters, etc.
Remote employees and DC office needs support
Our contractor will be supporting in person technical support needs in Cambridge along with supporting remote employees and DC office
Day to Day: AV troubleshooting, conference room support, Zoom support, printer support, access issues, login issues, connectivity issues, updating user machines and softwares, software updates on Zoom, Teams, other applications, copier is broken, cant login to SharePoint, phishing emails, onboarding new hires, imaging laptops, preparing hardware, workstation set up, maybe help with some cybersecurity projects, etc.
Printer support, AV and Zoom room, meeting support, conference rooms, hardware support, basic network and software troubleshooting
Tech Environment: Windows environment, Office 365, Zendesk ticketing systems, primarily laptops, desk set ups, monitors, peripherals (mouse, keyboards, etc.), Go2meeting, LogMeIn for remote support
2-3 days a week onsite, they will work out the days
At the beginning it will probably be Monday, Wednesday and another day
Need good customer service, bedside manner, communication, patience, etc.
40 hours per week
Hours: Business Hours EST time, around 9-5 but they will work that out with the candidate specifically
Parking: they have a parking app where they can get free parking, or they park in a garage and the company will pay for it, so free parking onsite either way
Client wants to look at 3-5 Desktop Support candidates and System Admin candidates and then decide what they want
There is a possibility it goes perm, its not off the table. But this is not a contract to permanent role necessarily, so nothing is promised
