ZEN Associates has an immediate opening for an Account Manager position in our Landscape Maintenance Division. We are looking for experienced, energetic landscape gardeners with a thorough knowledge of horticulture. The primary role of this position is to ensure our client’s expectation are met for quality landscape maintenance and service while managing budgets and schedules. In addition, you will be managing, coordinating, and monitoring the performance of the maintenance crew(s) assigned to your accounts. If you are passionate about plants, horticulture, pruning, overall garden design, and maintenance and have a practical understanding of quality landscape practices, then ZEN Associates is the place for you. This is a year round position and includes participation in the winter snow removal services as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensuring and maintaining customer satisfaction for all aspects of services provided by ZEN Associates.
Daily coordination and communication with clients regarding work to be performed as well as updating clients on status of theirsite.
Respond to clients request for additional services, ability to produce cost proposals and schedules
Generating and maintaining schedules; day-to-day, three-week, and seasonal.
Day to day supervision of Maintenance Employees and equipment.
Prioritize the day’s work list and assign duties to crew members
Conduct before and after inspections to ensure quality control of the job site
Assist crew in the completion of required tasks
Oversee proper safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment usage and practices of crew
Conduct “on the job" training
Proactively address questions or issues and troubleshoot solutions
Communicate budgeted vs. actual hours plan with the manager
Regular communication and coordination with Department Manager regarding goals and objectives for the Maintenance Department.
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to clients
Solid knowledge of plant material, diseases, and insects, organic chemical spray and irrigation.
Ability to work with production teams and identify opportunities for improvement.
Excellent communication skills internally as well as externally, both written and oral.
Horticulture knowledge & the aptitude to train.
Must possess working knowledge of production planning and scheduling
Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and all electronic communication methods (mobile devices, text, email ) and experience with or ability to learn standard scheduling software.
Education and/or Experience: Associates/Bachelor’s degree with background in Horticulture and Landscape fields of study preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years landscape maintenance experience and prior management of landscape crews.
Certifications or course studies in or related to horticulture, arboriculture, pest management, organic fertilizers and pest management are a plus.
