About Us: Centerboard is actively seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Co-Ed Youth Counselors for our Young Adult Supported Living Program. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work with young adults aged 18 and over, supporting them as they navigate the journey towards independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation and Life Skills Support:
Provide transportation assistance and support with essential life skills to young adults within the program.
Offer guidance and supervision to help participants develop independence in tasks related to daily living.
2. Shift Coordination and Documentation:
Coordinate overnight shift tasks effectively, ensuring accurate documentation of all activities and interactions.
Maintain detailed case notes to monitor participant progress and ensure continuity of care.
3. Youth Engagement and Support:
Engage with program participants to foster meaningful connections with family, community members, and available resources.
Motivate and support young adults in overcoming daily challenges and barriers to achieving their goals.
4. Safety and Wellbeing:
Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of program participants at all times, implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Adhere to established policies and procedures mandated by licensing agencies to maintain a secure environment.
5. Independent Living Support:
Provide ongoing support to facilitate the transition to independent living, creating a productive and safe environment for participants.
Offer guidance and encouragement to help young adults develop the skills necessary for self-sufficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience working with youth, preferably in group settings, is highly valued.
Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
Proficiency in computer skills and effective communication abilities are essential for this role.
