In particular, Volunteers are needed to assist with:
Assist in large group activities.
Lead a small group in crafts, coloring, sorting, and gardening.
Assist with walking groups outside/inside the facility.
Assist staff with resident outings.
Assist at mealtimes.
Be part of discussion groups.
Be a friendly visitor to a resident every week.
Assist with parties or special events.
Bring a pet in to visit every week.
Volunteers should possess good communication skills, enjoy working with people of all ages, particularly the elderly, and be flexible, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality as required. Free parking is available on-site, and all volunteers participate in a background check, training, and orientation program.
