It offers top-ranked degree programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, language and hearing sciences, health science, athletic training, human physiology, behavior and health, and nutrition.The Sr. Staff Coordinator will assist the Research Administration team with all aspects of grant administration, including assistance with budget management, proposal submissions and post-award paperwork. Reporting to the Director of Research Administration at Sargent College, the roles helps support a complex, diverse grant portfolio for the college totaling $16.8 million in FY23. This is an excellent opportunity to get exposure and training managing federal, state, industry and foundation sponsored grants at a large research institution.The Coordinator will be responsible for providing grant administration and financial accounting support. Support includes activities such as monitoring and tracking budgets, processing purchase requisitions, creating progress reports, maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting with any outreach efforts, and processing paperwork and payroll as needed. Provide administrative support to the research administrator for all Sargent College grants.

Provide assistance in managing restricted budgets to prevent overspending, which may include processing financial transactions (i.e., journal entries, invoice approvals, budget adjustments etc.)

Assist in reconciling grant budgets on a monthly basis.

Support the Research Administration team in all proposal submissions. Assist with the development and maintenance of all budget templates and submissions, which includes obtaining all necessary approvals.

Provide administrative support to PIs and lab managers with grant related purchases, supplies, and travel reimbursement, to ensure that all expense are allowable and allocable to the research project. Other duties may include, assisting the research administration team as needed.

Responsible for overseeing the independent contractor / employee status process for all research related external service providers and consultants.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree preferred

1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a financial setting

Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Comfortable with learning and troubleshooting new software systems

Able to work independently and accurately with high attention to detail

Prior experience using Microsoft Excel

Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, time and deadline-sensitive, and able to perform using tact and discretion in a deadline-oriented environment.
