Job SummaryWorking as an Executive Chef, you are responsible for overseeing all culinary functions for a dining account. You will manage and lead a team of associates and oversee all safety and sanitation as it pertains to the account. Additionally, as part of the culinary team, you will be responsible for the following: RESPONSIBILITIES: Some of the key duties and responsibilities of this role will require (but is not limited to):

Plan and develop innovative, high-quality recipes and menus tailored to the unique needs of each event which will include seasonal (four times per year), themed and custom menus that excel in taste, quality and presentation (ie. plating).

Oversee and lead the day-to-day kitchen operations for all culinary staff including the Executive Sous Chef and Lead Banquet Chefs.

Develop daily prep lists and assignments for all full service catering production.

Manage and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a cohesive and skilled team.

Set the culinary staffing schedule.

Lead pre-shift team meetings and attend weekly team meetings to review upcoming events.

Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and minimize waste while upholding the highest standards of ingredient quality.

Work closely with our Sales team, event managers, leadership team and other relevant teams to coordinate the culinary aspects of events, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Oversee and leads tastings for all full service catering events.

Uphold a culture of continuous improvement, fostering creativity and innovation in menu development and kitchen operations.

Lead prep cooks and event chefs on site and at private/offsite events regularly.

Perform excellent customer service at all times.

Perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least three years of proven experience as a executive chef or executive sous chef (or combined) in a high-volume, high-end catering, restaurant or hotel environment.

Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes that showcase creativity and attention to detail.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire, train and motivate a diverse kitchen team.

Excel at project and time management and is highly organized.

Ability to spot and resolve problems amongst the culinary staff efficiently.

Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Apple, POS, BEO, Inventory based software systems)

In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Culinary degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus but may be waived with relevant experience.
