Adcorp Signs, Inc. has been in business for 35 years and is looking to hire a full-time carpenter/ sign installer. The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a carpenter or sign installer. Employment references are required. The applicant must also have a valid Maryland driver’s license and own a full size pick up truck, to haul ladders or larger sign materials to the job site, as needed. Applicant will be paid $500 each month or $25.00 per day for gas and expenses. If a project does not require a truck the applicant can drive a car, if they prefer.
Applicant must be able read floor plans and be able to use levels, drills, hammer drill, measuring tools, ladders, caulk gun and interior or exterior lifts. Most of the work involves attaching room signs to the walls with double face tape and silicone adhesive or screws in drywall or cmu. There will be some installations requiring interior or exterior lifts to stud mount non-illuminated metal or plastic letters to walls. Exterior heights typically do not exceed 2 stories. Temporary laborers will be provided, as needed.
Estimated starting pay is $25/hr - $32/hr depending on the applicant’s experience level. Most jobs will be wage scale. However, there may be days when the applicant will not be required to do any installation and will be asked to work in the shop. Shop tasks are CNC router work, making signs and cleaning up the shop.
Hours will be based on jobsite access. In general hours will be based on 8 AM to 4 PM, including the lunch hour and break times. The applicant may work earlier, if they prefer.
Benefits include 401K and 2 weeks of paid vacation after 6 months of employment. A 3rd week of vacation shall be added after 2 years of employment and a 4th week after 4 years. 4 hour paid holidays. No health insurance benefits are available at this time.
There will be no smoking on the premises or inside any of the buildings the applicant will be working in.
