Overview:
This multi-functional role combines administrative support with cashier duties to enhance overall store efficiency. The employee will serve as a key point of contact for customers while managing essential administrative functions. This position requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Transaction Handling
Frontline Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
Answer questions regarding products, prices, and store policies.
Cash Handling & Transactions:
Operate the cash register accurately, processing cash, credit, and debit transactions.
Issue receipts, refunds, or change as needed.
Verify customer identification for age-restricted products.
Store Maintenance at the Front Desk:
Keep the checkout area neat, well-organized, and inviting.
Restock merchandise and monitor the sales floor during the shift.
Administrative & Operational Support
Office Administration:
Manage incoming calls, emails, and other correspondence efficiently.
Schedule appointments and maintain digital and paper filing systems.
Inventory & Supply Management:
Assist in tracking inventory levels, ordering supplies, and processing invoices.
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
Reporting & Record-Keeping:
Prepare daily or weekly reports, including sales summaries, expense records, and staff schedules.
Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks such as cash deposits and reconciliation.
General Support:
Provide backup to team members during busy periods.
Help maintain the overall organization and cleanliness of the store.
Compliance & Security:
Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling, security procedures, and administrative protocols.
Report any discrepancies or unusual activities to the store manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Customer Service & Cashier Skills:
Prior experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred.
Basic math skills and comfort with handling cash and processing transactions.
Administrative Proficiency:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with basic accounting software.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in both administrative and financial tasks.
Teamwork & Independence:
Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or prior relevant experience is a plus.
