Job Title: Licensed/Trained Addiction Counselor

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed or Trained Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide professional counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction disorders. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will assess clients' needs, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to support their recovery journey. Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs.

2. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals and objectives for recovery.

3. Provide evidence-based counseling and therapy sessions, including individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy, to address clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues related to addiction.

4. Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups to enhance clients' understanding of addiction, coping skills, and relapse prevention strategies.

5. Monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effectiveness and client engagement.

6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate integrated care and support services for clients.

7. Document client interactions, treatment interventions, and progress notes accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory standards and agency policies.

8. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health or substance-related crises, ensuring their safety and well-being.

9. Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in addiction counseling and incorporate new knowledge into clinical practice.

10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct, maintaining confidentiality and respecting clients' autonomy and dignity at all times.

Requirements:

1. State License or Trainer Certificate in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution.

2. Current state licensure or certification as an addiction counselor (e.g., Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Addiction Counselor) preferred.

3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment settings.

4. Strong understanding of addiction theories, treatment modalities, and recovery principles.

5. Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and clinical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

6. Empathy, patience, and nonjudgmental attitude towards individuals struggling with addiction.

7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.

8. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

9. Knowledge of and adherence to ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing addiction counseling practice.

10. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and pursue continuing education opportunities in addiction counseling.
