Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland. You will be tasked with a variety of fiscal responsibilities, ranging from budget management to preparing financial reports. Responsibilities: Compile and maintain accurate budget data, ensuring compliance with budget limitations Analyze and reconcile budget expenditures, identifying and rectifying any deficits Review and verify the accuracy of grant invoices, ensuring all necessary information is present Distribute funding to different budget accounts as per requirement Generate and distribute financial reports Prepare cost analysis for new programs and generate reports of grant expenditures Develop and recommend new fiscal procedures Act as a liaison between units in the organization, providing guidance in the management of financial operations Perform complex mathematical calculations for salary adjustments and deductions Verify and approve purchase orders, requisitions, personnel action requests, and other forms for sufficient funding Prepare correspondence and financial reports diligently and accurately.Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role Demonstrated proficiency in using spreadsheet software Proven experience in budget management and budgeting Familiarity with managing budgets for grants Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience in monitoring and managing expenditures Ability to handle invoices and purchase orders efficiently Skilled in preparing financial reports, including monthly financial reports Proven experience in cost analysis Ability to reconcile payroll and perform ledger account reconciliation Experience with creating and maintaining journal entries Possess strong communication skills to prepare correspondence related to financial mattersRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
