Description We are seeking a Human Resources Manager for a university situated in Baltimore, Maryland. The role entails managing HR operations and procedures in a university environment. The selected candidate will be expected to handle matters related to employee relations, HRMS, compliance, and onboarding, among other tasks. Responsibilities: Oversee HR operations within the university setting, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. Manage HRMS tools to maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records. Ensure university's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to employment. Handle employee relations, acting as the point of contact for employee inquiries, complaints, and investigations. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the university environment. Manage benefit functions, including but not limited to health insurance, retirement plans, and employee assistance programs. Utilize Workday HRIS for HR-related tasks such as payroll, benefits, and talent management. Collaborate with other departments to ensure HR policies and procedures are understood and followed. Promote a positive work environment and foster a strong culture of professionalism and mutual respect. Continuously improve HR practices to support the university's goals and objectives.Requirements Proven experience in a Human Resources (HR) managerial role within the education industry, preferably at university level. Proficiency in HR Management Systems (HRMS), specifically Workday HRIS. Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements in the education sector. Demonstrable experience in managing employee relations and conducting complaint investigations. Familiarity with onboarding processes and benefit functions in an educational institution. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the university's goals. Proven ability to manage and resolve complex HR issues. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Professional certification in HR (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is an advantage.
