This individual will manage core accounting functions while contributing to process improvements and financial compliance initiatives.
Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
Prepare accurate financial reports for leadership, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
Oversee job cost accounting, budgets, and forecasting processes with a focus on profitability tracking.
Utilize Sage accounting software to improve efficiency and reliability in reporting and tracking.
Collaborate across departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks related to construction projects.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and industry best practices.
Assist with audits and tax filings as needed, ensuring completeness and accuracy in documentation.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as directed by management.
Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
Certification: CPA designation preferred but not required.
At least 2 years of accounting experience.
Prior experience in the construction industry preferred.
Proficiency with Sage accounting software is a big plus.
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of accounting principles, job costing, and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems efficiently.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
Results-oriented and able to work independently while meeting critical deadlines.
