The Network Engineer will support the Army’s Project Manager for Intelligence Systems and Analytics (IS&A) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.In this position, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure. You will have a strong foundation in networking principles, hands-on experience with network devices, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.Job Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and implementation of network solutions to meet requirements.

Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.

Conduct regular maintenance activities, including updates and patches.

Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access and potential threats.

Work closely with the security team to enforce security policies.

Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.

Provide support for network-related incidents and outages.

Create and maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators and developers, to ensure seamless integration of network services.

Assist in the implementation of network-related aspects of various IT projects.

Assist in monitoring and analyzing network traffic and trends.

Participate in capacity planning activities to ensure scalability.

US Citizen

Must possess aTS/SCI Clearance

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, system, software, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or related field.

Ten (10) years of direct experience in the design, integration, configuration, and analysis of complex software systems, military electronics, computer networking, and digital and graphic display systems. Includes direct experience with Department of Defense System Engineering processes.

Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).

Hands-on experience with network hardware from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

Familiarity with network security principles and practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently.

Preferred:

Direct experience working with user representatives (Army and Jointprograms) to develop and execute interoperability testing between systems.

Direct experience with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance software systems.

Direct experience in the design, integration, configuration, and analysis of complex software systems, military electronics, computer networking, and digital and graphic display systems. Includes direct experience with Department of Defense System Engineering processes.
