Position Title: Accounting Support Specialist CL2: Business Office Campus: Presque Isle Department: Business Office - IBUSO Location: Presque Isle ME Bargaining Unit: COLT Salary Band/Wage Band: B22/Step 1 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30 pm Length: Fiscal Year (12 Months) Statement of the Job: The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking an Accounting Support Specialist. This is an in-person, part-time position of 20 hours per week. The Accounting Support Specialist is a key member of the Student Financial Services team and works closely with UMPI students, as well as with staff from offices across campus. The Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for providing student billing services to students and families by communicating regularly regarding account balances, holds, payments, refunds, etc. This position operates independently and as a team on projects. This position also participates in special projects, as required. The starting rate is $19.59 per hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, retirement and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Schedule will be determined by the hiring manager and university needs (with work hours falling within normal operating hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm). Detail oriented, comfortable in a fast paced, highly computerized environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

High degree of experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred:

Knowledge of PeopleSoft /MaineStreet and document imaging systems.
