We have a beautiful (and busy) 83 acre farm and campground, event, farm & retreat venue in Waldoboro Maine. It takes a good amount of heavy lifting to keep it all ship shape and we are looking for a Property Assistant to help things move along each season.
Job Description:
The right person for this position loves the outdoors, is good with people and animals, self-driven, and passionate about creating beautiful outdoor spaces on our farm.
Can cut down trees as well as delicate flowers. Is not afraid to address a hornet’s nest if need be. We are a bunch of hard workers here and have found it all goes better with a good attitude and an eye towards finding solutions to all the unexpected things that come up each week.
Specific duties:
Property, Farm & Garden
Assist with lawn mowing & weed whacking as needed.
Maintain water/health of all new trees on property
Weekend Animal Chores
Campground
Spring Camp Opening/Fall Closing
Help with garbage/recycling removal & organization
Weekly Campground Cleanup
Events/Groups
Support event staff with setup
Support event staff with post-event cleanup
Misc
Help with property repairs as needed
Annual painting, equipment maintenance, odd jobs around the farm, planting, etc.
Skill Sets
Among other general landscaping and outdoorsperson basics, must know how to:
Drive a side-by-side (Kubota), lift 50 lbs, operate small machines, seek out tasks to remain busy, good communication skills.
This is a part-time position - about 20-30 hours. Must be patient, driven, calm and solution focused when issues arise. An easy smile doesn’t hurt. Must be able to work alongside our small team and love being outside.
