Custom Float Services is hiring for a full-time position installing residential and commercial floating dock systems in the Casco Bay area. The installation service we provide for both residential and municipal customers involves moving floats from storage areas to install locations, setting anchor chains, and raising and lowering gangways. Our fleet includes two 24' Pacific work boats, two Carolina Skiffs, and a 28' lobster style work-boat. The water crew works with minimal supervision and on the water critical thinking and problem solving is required. Previous boat operation experience is strongly preferred but not entirely necessary. Hours vary with tide cycles and work load, with opportunities to work overtime.
Heavy lifting/pulling of anchor chains, carrying and using winches and other powered equipment, and boat operation is common. Working in adverse weather conditions is sometimes required. Some carpentry experience is preferred for repair.
Pay is negotiable based on experience. Opportunity for full time employment if candidate is the right fit after working with us for a season. Full Time would include a full benefits package includes paid holidays, vacation time, health insurance, 401k with match, and a yearly bonus based on the company's profit.
