OUTDOOR MAINTENANCE WORKER
Pineland Farms Outdoor Recreation Department | Located at 32 Farm View Dr. New Gloucester, Maine
Job Summary:
An Outdoor Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining recreational trails, disc golf courses, and assisting in recreational events. Their duties include trail maintenance, tree and brush pruning, and painting.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Trail work, grounds maintenance, chain sawing and mowing.
Ability to run trucks with trailer as well as tractor operation
All types of mechanical work to include welding, vehicle maintenance, and snow mobile maintenance.
Light carpentry and painting.
Assist with winter trail grooming (snowmobile/ four-wheeler operation with evening or night shifts required). Shoveling, pond clearing, and other winter-related activities.
Assist with retail ski shop and hosting of events and races as needed.
Shop organization and cleaning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience working in a general ground’s maintenance position.
Ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently, in a team-oriented environment. Our top priorities are self-motivation and a good attitude.
Comfortable with a rapidly changing work environment.
Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
Knowledge and experience with wood working power tools.
Mechanical aptitude—ability to troubleshoot and fix mechanical problems on equipment for outdoor/landscaping use.
Familiarity with function planning and facility set-ups.
Very timely and attention to time-sensitive issues.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends as required.)
Ability to lift/move heavy (up to 80 lbs.) objects from the ground to chest height.
Good Sense of humor and strong work ethic are a must.
Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner.
Must be 18 Years of age or older.
CDL a plus but not required.
This is a full-time year-round position.
