Leah’s Pralines, a historic French Quarter candy shop, is seeking a reliable and responsible individual to fill a cashier position. We are a small, family owned business and we make everything by hand, the old fashioned way. This job consists of greeting customers, offering samples, ringing up sales and packing orders. We look for applicants who have a friendly and positive attitude and exhibit patience when dealing with customers. And most importantly, you must love candy!
Responsibilities include:
- Using a cash register, credit card machine and handling money efficiently and effectively. You will also help with packing mail orders.
- Maintaining a clean store front and assisting candy maker in weighing and packing candy when necessary.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and wait on multiple customers at the same time.
- Ability to work fast and efficiently with minimal supervision.
The position starts at $16/hour. We are looking for someone who can work Friday and Saturday, 9:45 am to 6 pm.
