Senior Accounting Manager

Description Robert Half is in search of a Senior Accounting Manager to join the team of a well established manufacturing company in the greater Baton Rouge area. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining the general ledger, performing financial analysis, cost accounting and account reconciliations, managing fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. This direct opportunity offers a hybrid, flexible schedule, competitive compensation and bonus structure, full benefits plan and opportunity for career advancement.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial statements Conduct thorough account reconciliations to prevent and detect any discrepancies Administer fixed assets and maintain up-to-date records for accurate reporting Ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations in all financial operations Review and process VAT returns and tax audits to ensure timely completion Oversee the processing of AP invoices and ensure all payments are accurate and timely Manage accruals and ensure they are accurately recorded in the financial system Conduct cost review and analysis including staff costs to assist in budgeting and forecasting Work closely with GM and/or Sales Lead on sales forecasting and strategic planning Oversee inventory evaluations and controls, including Working in Progress (WIP) Engage in OPEX projects for control and advisory purposes Ensure transactional compliance on a day-to-day basis and handle internal audit inquiries.Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related study preferred. Experience to be considered in lieu of degree 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or cost based accounting Applicant must possess a deep understanding of General Ledger functions and procedures. Proficiency in performing Reconciliations is a must. Capability to efficiently handle Accruals is required. Knowledge and experience in managing Fixed Assets is essential. Expertise in Cost Accounting practices is necessary.
