Supplemental InformationThe Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy. This position is located in the Production Support Services section. This vacancy participates in a career progression group and may be filled from this recruitment as a IT Statewide Operator 1 (TS-304), IT Statewide Operator 2 (TS-305), IT Statewide Operator 3 (TS-306) or IT Statewide Operator 4 (TS-307) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the IT Statewide Operator 4 is 64,189 . Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:None.LOCATION OF WORK:Division of Administration, Office of Technology Services.JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from other IT Statewide jobs by the presence of using enterprise information technology equipment and/or systems to support statewide print, mail, computer console or batch production functions.Differs from IT Statewide Operator 2 by the absence of independence in performing basic tasks in support of statewide print, mail, computer console or batch production functions.Examples of WorkThe Office of Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State’s investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff.25% Establishes and maintains mastery when operating and monitoring all mainframe and server production batch job schedulers across all shifts. Contacts the appropriate on-call application programmers and technical support personnel when production batch job errors occur and performs remediation upon request. Provides instruction and training to lower-level console operators when needed. Verifies that all production batch jobs that fail are responded to immediately and that all production batch job streams are completing on time.25% Monitors all mainframe consoles and respond to all warning and error messages. Contacts the appropriate higher-level IT technical support personnel when mainframe system intervention is needed.20% May function as a lead worker over lower level console operators as needed to ensure efficiency of operations on assigned shift. Assists supervisor with documentation, shift reports, and training.10% Establishes and maintains mastery when entering mainframe and server system commands, updating batch production job schedules, running tape backup systems, and running test batch processing at the request of higher-level IT professionals.10% Establishes and maintains proficiency in operating, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques when processing mainframe and server generated printed materials on high capacity printers and pressure sealer equipment.5% Perform all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.5% Participate in professional development opportunities to improve skills and technical knowledge.Louisiana State Government represents a wide variety of career options and offers an outstanding opportunity tomake a differencethrough public service.
