Job Description SummaryThe University Relations Event Coordinator/Manager will support all facets of student and early-career programs, especially the internship program, as well as university-related events. The Event Coordinator/Manager plays a critical role in building the Transamerica brand at career fairs, campus events, facilitating internship program events and activities, and developing new and unique events to create a memorable experience. To be successful, the Event Coordinator/Manager must be forward thinking to plan and manage competing events both internally and externally and across various working environments. They are highly organized and understand how to prioritize, thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, have fun, and get the job done. The Event Coordinator/Manager will be responsible for our internship and university-related programs revolving around our finance, accounting, and/or actuary organizations and will play a vital role in identifying, acquiring, and maintaining strong talent for these opportunities.Job Description Responsibilities:

Commute to Cedar Rapids office an average of two-three times a week and regular travel to key institutions in the Iowa region.

Develop relationships with campus career centers, university faculty, professors, and student organizations to collaborate and generate strong diverse talent pipelines.

Develop relationships with diverse student’s organizations and student groups, both on campus and with national chapters.

Acts as the primary point of contact with key institutions for campus recruitment events.

Administers all aspects of logistics for on-campus events, including but not limited to registration, invoices, staffing, training of volunteers, communications, and managing collateral.

Leads and attends recruiting events, including but not limited to on-campus career fairs, information sessions, interviews, resume workshops, advisory meetings, and office tours to source a strong and diverse talent pipeline and build brand awareness.

Track and provide recruiting metrics after events, including number of students attending and candidates interviewed/hired.

Partner with the University Recruiter to identify potential candidates and quickly distribute candidate information during high-volume periods.

Schedules candidate interviews with hiring teams.

Create and maintain a strong rapport with students on campus and during the intern program to inform students and employees about opportunities within the organization.

Present to small and large internal and external groups both virtually and in-person.

Maintains communications with new hires for onboarding and leads intern onboarding, manager trainings, and other university related presentations both on and off campus.

Maintains training materials, presentations, and creates new materials for both formal events as well as fun, dynamic internship events to build comradery, engagement, and a positive and fun internship experience.

Coordinate and manage all logistics for intern events across in-person, hybrid, and remote sites by creating unique and engaging programming, developing event calendars, securing guest speakers, partnering with admins, booking conference rooms, facilitating both in-person and virtual events, coordinating check-ins, and ordering food and materials as needed.

Support key finance, accounting, and actuarial program sponsors in enhancing the internship experience.

Liaise with team leaders to define hiring needs and design internship programs.

May assist in candidate screening, providing offers and offer letters, and communications as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with event planning and facilitation, event marketing, university recruiting, or similar.

Must be extremely organized, forward thinking, detail-oriented, and responsive.

Able to plan and prepare for competing events across various working environments.

Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills.

Project a professional image to candidates, campus personnel, and leaders.

Ability to work with multiple groups, including in-person, hybrid, and remote teams to build strong personal networks both internally and externally.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

Ability to execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and event development and management.

Financial Services and/or Insurance Industry experience, specifically work within a finance and/or actuarial organization.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products.

Working Conditions:

Hybrid office environment (2-3 days per week).

30% travel for on campus events in the Fall and Spring, primarily in Iowa

Able to travel to Cedar Rapids 2-3/week and key institutions during Spring and Fall.
