The ISU Student Government is seeking a dedicated Student Government Assistant (Administrative Assistant II) to provide vital administrative support and guidance to our three branches. This role is crucial in helping students fulfill their responsibilities in self-governance and in implementing a variety of special events, programs, and services that align with the mission of ISU Student Government.Operating primarily within the Memorial Union, the hub of campus life, you will work closely with student leaders to support programmatic and operational needs of the Student Government and work with Student Government advisors to provide positive experiences and leadership development . Your responsibilities will include helping to facilitat e smooth member and leader transitions, guiding students through proper procedures and coordination of event planning and budget management as well as representing Student Government in the Ames community as needed. Providing administrative support that ensures efficient office management and proper financial processes is vital . In this role, you'll also mentor students, helping them enhance their interpersonal effectiveness and achieve academic success. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple events and activities simultaneously will be key to your success. Performs a variety of administrative support activities.

Prepares minutes, notices, agendas, and correspondence.

Conducts moderately complex research, gathers data, and prepares reports.

Arranges calls and schedules meetings.

Makes travel reservations and itineraries.

Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings.

Edits documents for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.

Works under direct to general supervision and may receive guidance on more complex assignments

Follows established procedures for work assignments, and completes assignments which are semi-routine and may be atypical in nature

May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
