Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Non-Profit sector, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in our organization by managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing account reconciliation. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.Responsibilities: Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable for the organization Conducting account reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance Reviewing and processing reimbursements Producing monthly financial statements including profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements Assisting in the preparation of monthly management reports Coordinating with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines Evaluating computerized accounting systems and providing recommendations to IT team for performance improvements Generating financial reports and statements to Managers for review Assisting in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts Assisting in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentationsThis role is suitable for someone who has significant experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Account Reconciliation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Prior experience in a Non-Profit organization is preferred Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) management Demonstrable experience with Account Reconciliation Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
