About the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH):The Indiana Department of Health’s mission is to promote, protect, and improve the health and safety of all Hoosiers so that they can reach their optimal health regardless of where they live, learn, work, or play. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Role Overview: This role coordinates engagement and outreach programs in conjunction with and support of: HIV/STI/Viral Hepatitis Testing, PrEP, HR and SSPs, Local Health Departments, ZIP Coalitions and other agencies and organizations engaged in the Ending the Epidemic initiatives. This position will report to the Community Engagement and Integrated Planning Manager. Aligns program goals and objectives with PS 18-1802 and PS 20-2010 award and guidance, the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and the End the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Plan for America. Establishes annual program performance standards and assures inclusion of standards in RFP and Attachment A. Supports grant recipients with planning, development, and implementation of HIV/STI/Viral Hepatitis Prevention interventions and service programs. Works with funded and non-funded entities to help increase engagement in programs offered under the four pillars of End the Epidemic Plan set forth by the CDC and HRSA. Provides TA and assists with training of community partners, grantees and other Programs and Divisions within IDOH. Participates in national conferences, webinars, and training institutes to provide expertise on the most recent HIV/STD/Viral Hepatitis prevention initiatives and opportunities. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Formulate and interpret all policies and procedures related to a public health program.

Develop public health program plans relative to assigned program area, implement changes and evaluates effectiveness of on-going programs.

Develop a variety of complex statistical and narrative reports identifying program trends and needs.

Maintain management information systems related to program area identifying computerization needs and expansion recommendations.

Participate in and/or coordinates grant writing efforts and manages related budgets.

Serve as primary agency liaison regarding public health program area, working closely with associated federal, state and local agencies and partners to ensure that program objectives are modified and updated as needs dictate.

What You'll Need for Success: This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

Broad knowledge of public health theories, principles, practices, and strategies.

Broad knowledge of program area including current and changing state and federal laws.

Considerable knowledge of the organization and function of state and local health agencies.

Specialized knowledge of public health laws governing state and local health jurisdictions.

Specialized knowledge of program planning and implementation techniques.

Ability to communicate complex public health theories and principles Both orally and in writing.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, or Access.

Ability to coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with other local, state, and federal agency staff.

Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.

Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
