Unit Assistant

Summary The Unit Assistant has responsibility and accountability for delivery of high quality basic nursing care for a designated group of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, hospital and departmental policies. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients/significant others and all health care team members. Shares responsibility for managing resources, supplies and equipment. Assists with coordination of patient care activities and departmental services. Provides clerical and unit related services as specified by the unit.Education High school diploma or GED required.Licensure/Certification CNA certification preferred or the equivalent of healthcare experience and education. Current CPR.Addendums are required for 0153 Nurse Leader, 0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. Prefer one year of clerical experience, preferably in the medical field.Other Qualifications Must have proficient computer skills and general understanding of computer applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
