Description:Metalcraft Precision Machine in Elkhart, IN is searching for a qualified Lathe Lead on 1st shift. Metalcraft is a family-owned job shop that produces parts for various industries. Some customers include: Speedgrip Chuck, Complexus Medical, General Stamping & Metalworks, Caterpillar, etc. The Lathe department consists of 10 CNC HAAS Lathes.Shift Hours:1st shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm (can stay til 4:30pm) OT on Saturdays but not mandatoryJob Duties:
Overseeing a team of 2 to 3 Lathe Machinists (production-level machinists)
Setting up CNC HAAS Lathes for production runs (a lot of Agricultural customer work is done in this department)
Programming from customer blueprint (G&M Code)
Verification of set up by measuring first piece for approval
Grinding parts to customer specification
If not setting up machines for production runs, they will be completing their own 1-offs in the Mill department
Keep in mind, this is a job shop, so most of the candidate's day will be spent on setting up and overseeing CNC Machinists in the Lathe department.Skills:CNC Lathe, Haas, Machining, Set UpTop Skills Details:CNC LatheAdditional Skills & Qualifications:MUST HAVES:
