Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Network Engineer to handle the provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of our company's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware and will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining systems to ensure optimal performance.Responsibilities:
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
Evaluate and modify the system's performance.
Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
Develop and design the company's network architecture and infrastructure.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a network engineer role.
Holds professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+ is a plus.
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools).
Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking.
Excellent knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
Profound knowledge in network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, team working skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical staff.
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
