Sr. Analyst, GTC – Program ManagementUSA, Illinois, Lake CountyNewFinanceRequisition #2001948This position will support the GTC organization globally in their efforts to ensure AbbVie’s compliance with import/export regulations in countries where the company conducts international business. The responsibility of this position will include helping to set, deploy and monitor company-wide compliance policies, guidelines and procedures, ensuring proper protocols are in place for adherence to global trade regulations, and performing Customs value determination for products moving in our non-commercial flow. In addition, this position will assist on global valuation compliance assessments and other compliance initiatives in Program Management and GTC generally.In addition, this role will assist on the following activities: supporting financial audits and reviews, providing guidance to affiliates on customs valuation; assisting with and conducting GTC training; supporting the broker management program as well as the annual trade assessment and other audit protocols as necessary.The candidate must have the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, present professionally, and work well with Corporate and site management as well as his/her peer group.Key Responsibilities Include:
Drive adherence to proper valuation protocols by performing audits and validation of the non-commercial transactions
Review and analyze the financial information to identify more efficient processes and/or recognize any risk areas in our valuation approach
Collect necessary product costs / pricing information to accurately determine the Customs value
Support the establishment and maintenance of corporate policies and global procedures
Assist in proper valuation disclosures and adjustments filed with Customs agencies globally, as necessary
Contribute to roll out and implementation of processes to further enhance our core compliance objectives (e.g. setting monitoring protocols)
Assist the GTC Program Management team in developing and driving solutions to issues faced by the businesses and introduce the necessary oversight controls around any change.
Support the product financial flows reviews and identify best approach to overall international movement of our product at all stages of its life cycle
Participate in global trade compliance internal audits and help drive corrective action plans associated with our trade operations
Support external governmental reviews and audits/investigations globally in effort to minimize any adverse impact to the company
Provide support on the development of global training plans and training material, and deliver training and knowledge sharing to businesses/sites
Support the GTC broker management and trusted trade program, as necessary
Basic:
Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., international business, supply chain, logistics).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a broker’s agency, multinational company, or consulting firm.
Broad functional knowledge of import and export regulations and how business models impact Customs processes
Knowledge of Administration, Foreign Trade Law, Customs Law, Tariff Codes, etc.
Proactive and well organized
Analytical approach to problems and data
Ability to work well under external pressure
Strong leadership and communications skills
Experience with global trade software platforms (e.g. SAP Global Trade Services module)
Trade compliance experience in several countries
Proficiency in a second language preferred
