Growing intermodal company is looking for an EXPERIENCED INTERMODAL DISPATCHER to dispatch our fleet of drivers for local and regional areas. We are looking for someone who can multi-task, be quick to resolve issues with drivers / customers and accurately recall information—an out-going personality who can carefully plan and adapt to changes.
REQUIREMENTS; MUST HAVE 2 YEARS INTERMODAL EXPERIENCE. MUST KNOW ALL CHICAGOLAND RAILROADS, DEPOTS, and CHASSIS PROVIDERS. Must be able to:
Efficiently schedule and coordinate work for the drivers
Work with other employees to ensure operations run smoothly
Ability to remain calm while problem solving with drivers & customers
Communicate with customers about updates regarding driver’s status
Effectively dispatch drivers with load information about orders and requirements
Verify necessary equipment, like chassis, are available to keep operations moving forward
Continuously build relationships with drivers and customers by being organized and helpful
This position is responsible for ensuring drivers are dispatched to pick up containers in the railroad or at the customers in a timely manner.
Drayage Experience and knowledge of all rails and depots is a must
Pay is UP TO $75,000/year and is based on INTERMODAL knowledge and experience.
Schedule will be Monday - Friday with alternating weekends.
