Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Plan and schedule repair work, prioritizing jobs based on urgency and resource availability.
- Manage shop workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard of quality and in accordance with industry best practices.
- Control shop costs, including labor, parts, and supplies as be responsible for the total budget.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including job orders, parts inventory, and maintenance logs.
- Enforce safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing obsolescence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Monitor shop performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role within a diesel repair environment not less then 2 years
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with shop management software and diagnostic tools.
