Fleet Manager

Our trucking company is expanding and looking for an experienced Fleet Manager who will manage a growing fleet of trucks, trailers, and drivers. They will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current vendors and new vendors, managing company in-house mechanics, maintaining parts inventory and ensuring all preventative maintenance and breakdowns are resolved in a timely fashion to reduce downtime, cost, and improve safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Ensure vehicles are operational, serviced, and DOT ready to meet daily service requirements.

-Familiar with all aspects of heavy truck preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.

-Formulating and implementing preventive maintenance plan for all equipment.

-Evaluate and approve work orders to control cost.

-Manage company in-house mechanics.

-Handle roadside breakdowns to ensure quick and cost efficient repair to reduce downtime.

-Development and evaluation of maintenance vendors and suppliers.

-Maintains excellent communication with external and internal customers.

-Compliance with all company & DOT safety policies.

-Maintain and enter all maintenance records into database.

-Purchase parts & department supplies.

-Assist in the selection of all new and replacement vehicles.

-Ability to road test the equipment after repairs to make sure all issues were resolved.

Requirements:

-Knowledge of heavy duty truck/trailer mechanics.

-CDL Class A is a must: Ability to drive test trucks after repairs and test drive new driver hires.

-Ability to design and implement preventative maintenance schedules.

-Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues over the phone.

-Solid communication skills.

-Must be available after hours to handle emergency brake downs on the road (no night calls)

-Proficient knowledge of computer skills.

-Ability to conduct online research for unfamiliar issues.

-Bilingual is a big plus.

-Pay, Schedule, & Benefits:

Salary: $58,000 - $85,000 (Depending On Experience)

8AM - 5PM: Monday - Friday (Full Time Work)
