Role Description
We have multiple openings for our rapidly growing facility fir CNC Lathes and Mills and Swiss Machinists at Quantum Precision CNC Machining, located in West Chicago / Aurora , IL. The responsibilities include setting up, programming, and operating production CNC Lathes or Swiss machines. The machinist will be tasked with routine machine operation, proper use of machining methods, and ensuring machinery is maintained for peak operation. Additionally, quality control measures must be undertaken to ensure adherence to required standards.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years' experience with a Fanuc Mori Seki , Tsugami type controls
Capable of programing equipment using machine interface or CAM type software.
Experience using Master cam.
Experience with production of a variety of part sizes and types of material a plus.
Ability to read and blueprints; with the understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
Must be able to perform own setups, measure parts that consistently result in precision quality parts.
Able to edit G and M-codes, trouble shoot jobs and make adjustments as required.
Strong shop mathematics (trigonometry) aptitude and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, mics and other gauges).
Must have the ability to use a feed and speed chart or calculator to determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
Understanding of metal properties and appropriate cutting tools.
Positive attitude required; dependable, self-starter and the willingness to help others.
