Job Description Summary:

Lead Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing tasks. To provide assistance to processing team, delegate responsibilities and verify adequate completion of tasks. They are able to fill in for Production Manager when they are out of the office or not available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the team of 20 + employees, coordinating and supervising daily activities to ensure efficient production.

Creates daily production schedule based on demand from sales.

Calculates daily staffing needs based on production demand.

Verifies performance of production personnel and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.

Conduct daily verification of GMPs practices of production personnel.

Maintains safety of work environment by reporting and correcting human safety related issues.

Trains new staff on cutting / trimming techniques and verifies the effectiveness of the training.

Verifies the number of processing tools needed for employees and places orders where necessary.

Participates in monthly verification / validation activities as outlined in SQF procedures.

Responsible for reporting equipment related issues and participates in new equipment evaluation.

Oversees new product development activities and marketing samples creation.

Fills in for Production Manager when they are out.

Perform weekly safety and monthly meetings with employees.

Qualified Candidates must possess:

Must be flexible to work different start times (4pm & 4:30pm)

Must have prior experience in fresh food manufacturing environment.

Ability to work in cold environment (below 40 ° F)

Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Skills / Requirements:

Must have at least 2 years in Production Management (fresh produce processing required)

Must have a high school diploma (Associate degree preferred but not required)

Must have more than average communication skills. (Bilingual Preferred but not required)

Must be able to multitask Must be capable of working in cold environment (40 F)

Start times Sunday to Friday 4pm to 12:30am or 4:30pm to 1am (1 day off during the week)
