Lead Material Handler

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd Shift Lead Material Handler to join our team at the Buffalo Grove Distribution Center. Reporting to the 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the timely receiving, put-away, and processing of all inbound shipments. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity within the warehouse environment.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 1:00 pm -11:30 pm

$24.00/ Hr.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling: Demonstrate proper and safe use of all material handling equipment, including forklifts, to move inventory. Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

Equipment Maintenance: Complete daily forklift inspection checklists and report any nonconformance or chemical spills to management. Ensure end-of-shift charging and parking of equipment.

Order Fulfillment: Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to evaluate daily production delivery orders and ensure timely and accurate deliveries to production cells.

Inventory Management: Verify accuracy of put-away, replenishments, and production orders. Utilize various equipment to load domestic and international shipments.

Receiving and Returns: Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all inbound shipments and process customer returns efficiently.

Cycle Counting: Facilitate and execute the daily cycle counting program to maintain inventory accuracy.

Warehouse Organization: Participate in 5S housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and organized warehouse

Training and Development: Assist in training, coaching, process development, and KPI monitoring. Train new team members on work processes and instructions.

Team Collaboration: Support other team members to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain current standards and new initiatives.

Position Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of general warehousing experience, preferably in a pick and pack shipping environment. 2+ years of lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.

Technical Skills: Previous experience with SAP or another WMS system and utilizing RF equipment is desired. Basic math skills and strong attention to detail are essential.

Certification: Previous forklift operator certification required (sit-down, stand-up reach, Walkie-rider, order picker).

Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with general warehouse safety measures.
