Facilities Assistant:
The Facilities Assistant is a full-time position. Full-time hours mean consistently working 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 40 hours total per week.The primary focus of the Facility Assistant is to ensure all Concordia facilities are the outward expression of the “Place of Excellence” guiding principle. Work is performed under the supervision of the Facilities Manager to ensure facilities and grounds are well kept, well maintained, and meet city and state licensing requirements. In general, responsibilities include custodial, janitorial, and light maintenance tasks. The skills, qualifications and other requirements are representative of those needed for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reports to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities:
Ensure general cleanliness of all program, storage, and mechanical areas
Prioritize and complete assigned work orders; tracking repairs and maintenance through on-line work order system (Facility Dude)
Ensure janitorial supplies are in stock and stored in appropriate areas.
Identify and report overnight janitorial performance issues to Facilities Manager
Perform light janitorial duties as needed during operational hours.
Perform various routine maintenance and repair tasks, including changing light bulbs and making repairs.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance walkthroughs of the facilities (adjusting door locks, tightening bolts, etc.)
Complete room/space setup for events as needed.
Respond to emergency situations as needed.
Provide supplemental support for snow removal as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma and a minimum of two years of hands-on general maintenance/janitorial experience. (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.)
Basic aptitude and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and functions.
Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and intranet/internet

Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects and work orders in a timely manner
Possess a positive, professional attitude and must be honest and ethical
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a team player
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks and set priorities.
Proactive, self-directed worker that can complete and follow through on activities.
Project positive attitude and maintain calm during high activity.
Maintain a high volume, fast paced work queue with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Be receptive and adaptable to change.
Requirements:
Requires on-call responsibilities as needed to respond to emergency situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position requires own vehicle to fulfill job functions; (travel between sites, pick up parts, meet vendors). A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance are required.

Salary, Perks and Benefits:
Hourly rate: $18 - $22 per hour
