We are looking for an experienced Lead Baker to join our team.

Job Summary: As the Lead Baker, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the production of baked goods, managing inventory, monitoring costing, and leading/coaching a small team of bakers. Your expertise in baking techniques and leadership skills will ensure the smooth operation of the bakery and the consistent delivery of outstanding breads and baked goods to our customers.

Base salary is in the 50-55K range based on your experience and more so previous accomplishments and the skills you're bringing. A bonus program is in place that has the potential to pay out up to an additional 25% of base salary. Options/equity along with liberal time off are on the table.

Job Responsibilities:

-Lead a team of bakers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to maximize their potential and performance.

-Oversee the production process, ensuring that all baked goods are prepared according to established recipes, quality standards, and timelines.

-Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring their availability for production needs while minimizing waste and cost.

-Develop and implement new seasonal recipes, products, and baking techniques.

-Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

-Train new bakers on baking techniques, equipment operation, and adherence to quality standards.

-Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all products meet the bakery's high standards of taste, appearance, and texture.

-Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for baking processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

-Collaborate with ownership to develop production schedules, considering customer demand, sales forecasts, and wholesale client orders.

-Stay updated on industry trends, new baking techniques, and ingredient innovations, and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

-3-5 years of experience in baking, with a strong emphasis on leading a team of bakers in a fast-paced environment.

-Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and ingredients, with the ability to develop and modify recipes as needed.

-Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve targets and maintain high standards.

-Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and customers.

-Proficiency in inventory management and costing, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

-Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and handling.
