Description We are offering an interim employment opportunity for a Tax Director in Chicago, Illinois. This role primarily focuses on managing global tax planning, financial reporting of income taxes, and accounting for US indirect taxes within the industry. Additionally, the Tax Director will also be responsible for leading the coordination and management of external service providers related to US and foreign operations.Responsibilities: Lead the global financial reporting of income taxes under ASC 740 and SEC guidelines, including maintenance of deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and disclosures. Oversee the management of and accounting for US indirect taxes, including sales tax collection/remittance, use tax self-assessment, and personal property taxes. Manage the preparation of US federal and state income tax returns, including related audits/examinations and interactions with tax administrators. Lead the coordination and management of outside service providers related to US and foreign operations in tax planning, tax returns, tax provisions, and audit support. Oversee global tax planning including corporate structures, acquisition due diligence, efficient financing, and general business transactions. Guide the tax department, including direct oversight of tax managers, development of team goals, and detail oriented development. Keep current with tax law/regulatory and industry changes. Participate in special projects as assigned.Requirements Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation Proficiency in ASC 740, with a strong ability to apply its principles to real-world scenarios Extensive knowledge and experience with Federal Income Tax Proven track record of successfully leading a tax department or team Ability to stay updated with changing tax laws and regulations Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Advanced proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, a Master's degree A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate tax planning and compliance, preferably in a leadership roleRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
